Ponce City Market puts up what might be the most millennial mural ever

If you like Ponce City Market on Instagram, there’s a good change your handle is emblazoned on a giant mural there — along with 99,999 others.

The popular mixed-use development commissioned a handwritten mural with the username of each of its first 100,000 followers.

Students from Atlanta’s Portfolio Center drew the mural on the walls and windows of Atlanta Gallery Collective, a pop-up art gallery on the second floor of the market’s Central Food Hall. The mural is only on view through the holidays — so better start combing it for your name now.

Hey hey thanks for 100k!! We’ve decided to take it from internet to IRL and make our followers a part of our physical space. That’s right: if you were one of the first 100k people to follow us, your @ name is written on the second floor of the Central Food Hall, in the windows of the Atlanta Gallery Collective. . You’ve seen it a million times: brand hits social media milestone, brand makes cute video to celebrate. And you know what? When we hit that big number, we did almost exactly that. But then we took a step back and reminded ourselves who those people on Instagram really are — you! Our real-life community! We realized then that it wasn’t about patting ourselves on the back, but about extending true gratitude to every single person who helped us get here, both online and off. . So how do we do that? We threw around a lot of crazy ideas, but the simplest answer made the most sense, which was to thank each and every one of you by (@ user)name. It is you who build the foundation of Ponce City Market every day, after all. Thanks for all your likes, comments, shares and follows! Consider this our big double-tap back 👍 . 😍 Your friends at Ponce City Market . #atlantagallerycollective #Poncecitymarket #ATL #Ponce #Market #Atlantalife #myPCM #Atlanta #PCM #100kfollowers #thankyou #weloveatl
