The Peachtree Corners City Council voted Monday to enter into a construction contract with CMEC, LLC to complete 2016 calendar year sidewalk projects along Jay Bird Alley and Technology Parkway. The city’s consultant, Keck & Wood, Inc. recommended CMEC based on a bid tabulation indicating CMEC as the lowest of three bidders for the work.

The Jay Bird Alley sidewalk will connect Peachtree Parkway to the end of the sidewalks coming soon from a new town home development at Parkway Lane. The Technology Parkway sidewalks will begin at Westech Drive and extend north toward Technology Parkway South, toward City Hall.

Peachtree Corners received a GDOT Local Management and Improvement Grant (LMIG) for these sidewalk projects. The LMIG funding is approximately $250,712 and requires a city match of $75,213 for a total project funding of $325,925.

Including a contingency for potential construction related issues and potential additional streetscape items, the city council approved a budget of $325,925 for the work.
