Peachtree City robbery suspects caught

An early morning police chase in Peachtree City Wednesday ended with the apprehension of three robbery suspects. An officer responding to a burglary in progress call at the Simply Mac store at The Avenue shopping center at 5 a.m. followed the suspects as they fled northbound on Ga. Hwy. 74 in a stolen Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Officers from Peachtree City and Tyrone deployed Stop Sticks that resulted in the suspects’ car crashing into trees near Crestwood Drive, where two men were apprehended. A third man was taken into custody following a second vehicle pursuit in Fairburn.

The men were identified as Dontavious Stephens, 21; Frederick Hammonds, 26; and Johntavis Bailey, 24, all from Atlanta.
