Norcross property owners whose property values have increased will experience a tax increase for 2017. The Norcross City Council is recommending maintaining a millage rate of 5.749 for 2017, instead of the rollback rate of 5.317 mills. The city’s millage rate has remained 5.749 mills since 2015. According to city documents, reducing the millage rate to the rollback rate would result in an $84,110 decrease in tax revenue for the city.

The city will hold a second public hearing to discuss the millage rate at 11 a.m. Aug. 7 at City Hall, 65 Lawrenceville St. The city will hold a third public hearing and vote to adopt the millage rate during the next city council meeting 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at city hall.
