Fans of Atlanta-based Mrs. Winner's Chicken & Biscuits will be happy to hear that a new location has opened in Fulton County.

Mrs. Winner's menu includes quintessential southern items such as fried chicken, biscuit sandwiches, cinnamon rolls and sweet tea. The new eatery, run by restaurateur Gyrone Hilliard, is located at 4350 Fulton Industrial Blvd SW.

Founded in 1979 by former KFC owner, Jack Massey, Mrs. Winner's had 184 restaurants throughout the Southeast before the chain closed all but 12 after filing for bankruptcy in 2010. Some Atlanta locations were changed into new restaurants, including Cook Out and Elmyriachi.

In 2012, current President John Buttolph acquired the rights to the company. The chain now operates 14 locations through Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee and looks to add 25 to 50 new locations over the next five years, according to a press release.

The other Georgia restaurants are in East Point, Decatur, Stockbridge and Macon.

The Fulton Industrial District location “officially opened to the public on Monday,” a spokeswoman said. Its doors are open from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; the drive-thru is open from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
