Arrest made in murder of teen on Cobb playground


A man charged with murder in the death of a teenager was arrested Thursday, police said. 

Dawson Lee Wagner, 19, of Woodstock, is accused of stabbing to death 17-year-old Naseer Benefield, leaving his body on a Cobb County playground in the 6600 block of Mableton Parkway on Nov. 19, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

Wagner was arrested on Myra Lane in Canton, police said.


Benefield had recently moved into a Mableton apartment with his grandfather, who had left to get dinner for the teen and himself when the stabbing took place.
