Ten Johns Creek residents qualified for the upcoming municipal election.

Qualifying for the Nov. 7 election ended Wednesday, and each candidate will face competition.

In the race for mayor, incumbent Mike Bodker – who has led Johns Creek since 2006 – has a challenger in Alex Marchetti, a businessman who has lived in Johns Creek for more than 20 years.

For Post 1 on the city council, incumbent Leonard Zaprowski will face a challenger in Issure Chen Yang.

City council member Cori Davenport is not seeking re-election for Post 3, so that race is wide open. Residents Vicki Horton, Richard Holladay, John Bradberry and Mark Venco will be vying for that seat.

For Post 5 on the city council, incumbent Stephanie Endres will face a challenger in Chris Jackson. Endres was elected to the position in 2015 to serve out the unexpired term of Kelly Stewart, who left to launch a bid for the state House of Representatives.

The deadline for Johns Creek residents to vote is Oct. 10. Early voting will be held Oct. 16 through Nov. 3.

Absentee voters can view application information on the Fulton County elections website. Voters can locate their polling place on the Secretary of State website.
