Kennesaw and local churches are coming together this weekend to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. — and you’re invited.
Head to the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive, on Sunday for “United We Stand, Divided We Fall” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The program was put together by Thankful Baptist Church’s Rev. John W. Harris and his wife evangelist Deborah J. Harris.
There will be readings dealing with unity, along with interpretive dance and singing by a choir of community members and special guests, according to a news release from the city.
“This year’s celebration will continue the great MLK Day tradition in Kennesaw,” said Rev. Harris.
There will also be awards given to high school seniors heading to college in the fall. The initiative has given $12,000 to youth in Kennesaw.
