A 1040 tax form

Still haven’t filed your taxes? No worries. Some number-savvy Gwinnett County students will do them for you.

The Gwinnett School of Math, Science and Technology’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Club will help anyone with an annual income of $54,000 or less prepare their taxes. The VITA Club will also assist people with disabilities and people who have limited English skills.

The club began three years ago as a student’s senior capstone project, according to Gwinnett County Public Schools. It morphed into a club, and now, each year, students look forward to helping people prepare their federal returns.

You can work with VITA to get your taxes filed at the Tax Clinic of Dacula. Students will be there on March 18 and 25, and April 1, 8 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring all documents you need for your taxes and be prepared to wait; it’s first come, first served.
