Put away those roller skates — at least until March 12. The Pinckneyville Park roller hockey rink will be closed until then for renovations.

The rink, home to multiple youth and adult roller hockey leagues, will be getting some upgrades to its walls, floor tiles and dasher boards, according to Grant Gest of the Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation department.

The renovations, which began on Feb. 13, coincide with a break in the Peachtree Booster Club’s youth league seasons, said John Register, also of the parks department. No kids will be deprived of previously-scheduled hockey time due to the project.

About 750 youth hockey players use the facility each season, Register said.
