Sergio Palomares-Guzman has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.

A Grayson horse trainer has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals after he was seen on video force-feeding cocaine and whiskey to a goat, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office said.

Sergio Palomares-Guzman, 28, was arrested Thursday after deputies were given a video of the incident by a tipster. The incident occurred on a ranch located on New Hope Road, where Palomares-Guzman worked and lived.

Palomares-Guzman was seen on the video holding the goat back by its horns while an unidentified man inserted cocaine into the goat’s nostril, a department release said. Palomares-Guzman then forced the goat’s mouth open so the second man could pour whiskey down its throat, the release said. A third man is also seen in the video, but he does not appear to do anything to the goat.

Palomares-Guzman shared the video after it was filmed, prompting the tipster to contact sheriff’s deputies.

He told deputies that the incident occurred on Jan. 2. The owner of the ranch told deputies he was not aware of the incident until investigators showed up with warrants on Thursday.

Palomares-Guzman is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
