Gwinnett city to increase police presence on these downtown streets

The city of Lawrenceville would like you to slow down in school zones and near construction sites.

The city specifically asked drivers to stick to the proper speed limits on Highway 29 (Lawrenceville Highway) and on Clayton, Crogan and Perry streets. There will be increased monitoring of driver speeds by the Lawrenceville Police Department over “the next several days,” a city release said.

Gwinnett city passes referendum that allows liquor stores

“Construction workers and students are frequently in and/or crossing these streets and individual safety is of prime concern,” the city said in a release. “Maintaining the proper speed limit and observing traffic signage supports overall safety for these workers, students, and drivers.”

Keep an eye on speed limit signs when you’re driving through downtown Lawrenceville.
