Two organizations in metro Atlanta are giving away animals over the next few days.

The Atlanta Humane Society is waiving the adoption fees of all cats and dogs who are one year or older Friday through Monday at 2:36 p.m., when the solar eclipse occurs in Atlanta.

The "Total Eclipse of Your Heart" program aims to unite hundreds of pets with families before the eclipse, according to a press release.

Separately, LifeLine Animal Project will hold a “Clear the Shelters” adoption event at Fulton County Animal Services, 860 Marietta Blvd. on Saturday.

Fees on all animals will be waived, and the pet’s spay/neuter, microchip and vaccines will also be comped — a $250 value.

All adopters will also receive coupons for an additional $200 worth of free veterinary services from VIP Petcare, a press release said. This deal also applies at DeKalb County Animal Services, LifeLine Dog House & Kitty Motel and the LifeLine Cat Adoption Center.
