FBI seeks man accused of robbing Atlanta college student at gunpoint

The FBI Atlanta Field Office and Atlanta police are asking for help locating a man charged with felony armed robbery.

Cedric Deon Cauley, 22, allegedly robbed a 20-year-old student at gunpoint after she left Atlanta Technical College and stopped at a corner store located at 1407 Metropolitan Pkwy. Cauley took the student’s phone and book bag before running away on the morning of Jan. 16, according to an FBI press release.

The victim told police she saw Cauley throw her backpack in the bushes, but her wallet, $30 cash, a credit card, social security card and birth certificate were missing when she recovered it. She said the man had red dreads and she recognized him from Instagram, according to a police report.

Cauley is on the Atlanta Police Department's Most Wanted list and should be considered armed and dangerous, the statement said.

Anyone with information on the case may call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. All callers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000 if their tip leads to an arrest and indictment.
