The Duluth City Council voted 4 to 1, with Councilmember Billy Jones voting against, to approve rezoning for approximately 10.19 acres on Buford Highway at Davenport Road to construct 79 attached single-family townhouses and a commercial outparcel. The project aims to create a walkable and bicycle-friendly community that will tie into Duluth’s downtown.

The residential portion of the development will have 46 rear-entry townhomes in an urban style, and 33 front-entry townhomes, more consistent with single-family design. The plan calls for 8.9 units per acre with a minimum 2,200 square feet per home, and minimum lot sizes of 1,500 square feet for rear entry and 2,000 for front entry. Although each home will be privately owned, the HOA will maintain all vegetation outside each home. The retail/mixed-use portion of the project will front Buford Highway.
