A man armed with a knife and rifle got away with thousands in cash after he robbed a local Spanish grocery store in Sandy Springs.

Police in Sandy Springs are searching for a suspect who robbed a local Spanish grocery store and restaurant.

The suspect is being described by police as a 5-foot-9 man with a slim build, police said. He was wearing a striped-ski mask.

According to a police report, the robbery happened just before midnight on Saturday at the Super Mercado y Carniceria Santa Fe at 178 Northwood Drive. The suspect left with $6,380 in cash and a purse worth $500.

Four witnesses at the scene told police that the man was armed with a knife and rifle.

Police said no one was harmed during the incident.
