A man called police after he heard gunshots Thursday night near an East Atlanta Village bar that’s tucked back in a parking lot off Flat Shoals Avenue.

The witness said he was outside of Gaja around 11:30 p.m. when he heard the noises and saw a man with a pistol in his hand chasing two other men, police said.

An officer didn’t find shell casings or “blood trails,” but found a $20 bill about 15 feet from the dumpster where the man was last seen running, according to a spokesman.

The officer reviewed video footage of the incident and saw a man standing in the middle of the street near the restaurant having a conversation with someone from a distance, before running away from the man with the pistol in his hand, police said. Another one of the men allegedly involved also appeared to have a gun in his hand.

No bystanders were stuck by the stray bullets, police said.

Anyone with information on the case may call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. All callers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000 if their tip leads to an arrest.
