A 51-year-old Atlanta man charged with aggravated assault was recently added to the Atlanta Police Department's "Most Wanted" list.

An officer spoke with a “very upset” man with bandages on his head standing by an ambulance in the 1000 block of Birch Street, according to an Aug. 2 incident report. The man told police he had gotten into an argument with his friend, Steven Rainwater.

Rainwater allegedly struck the man with a gun twice and then pointed it at him.

The victim said he’d been staying with Rainwater for about three days because he is homeless, and would stay at a shelter that night, the report said. He told police he went to high school with Rainwater, and had known him for more than 20 years.

The report did not include information about why the two men were allegedly fighting.

APD asks the public to alert police if they know Rainwater's whereabouts. Crime Stoppers Atlanta can be reached at 404-577-8477, and the Atlanta Police Department Fugitive Unit can be reached at 404-546-4220.
