The College Park city council recently approved a request for a mural placement on Woodward Academy’s campus, directly across from the Lower School, 3400 Madison Ave. Homeowners in the area support the mural, according to the council minutes.

In late March, Miller Decals LLC submitted an application for mural placement with the city of College Park, indicating the mural’s size, 70 feet by 25 feet.

The council also approved the purchase of 1,430 banquet chairs for the Georgia International Convention Center. The center’s executive director, Mercedes Miller, made the request for the chairs to be used for various conventions and event bookings at the center. The total cost comes to $194,850.48 and will be fulfilled by Atlanta Fixture & Sales Company Inc., the city said.

A request to set a public hearing to consider a stream buffer variance at Oxford Walk was also OK’d by the council. The hearing is set for May 1.
