Were you jealous of everyone’s summer filled with posting “my dog outdoors doing sporty things” pictures on social media?

That’s a shame, but there’s still time and now some help. Summer isn’t over, and Cobb County is running a pet adoption special.

Cats and dogs that have been spayed or neutered cost $10 until the end of August, the county announced on Facebook.

If the pet is not spayed nor neutered, the adoption will cost the regular $115, said Cobb spokeswoman AikWah Leow.

All adopted animals come with up-to-date vaccinations, rabies testing and deworming treatment. Dogs are checked for heartworms and cats are tested for feline immunodeficiency virus and feline leukemia virus — FIV and FLeV.

The Cobb County Animal Control, 1060 Al Bishop Drive in Marietta, is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday and from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday

According to the county's database, there are 220 pets up for adoption.
