Cherokee schools offer surplus goods at auction

Goods ranging from classroom furniture to guitars, refrigerators and Dodge, Ford and GMC trucks will be put up for auction next month as the Cherokee County School District empties its storehouse of goods declared surplus.

The sale, recently approved by the School Board and to be conducted by Jeff Dobson & Associates Inc., auctioneers, is scheduled for Nov. 5 at the Central Distribution Warehouse, 201 Mountain Brook Court, Canton. All schools, then outside agencies, will have a chance to preview the property and remove items they may need before the auction.

Other goods to be offered include TVs, overhead projectors and VCRs, office copiers, fax machines and telephones, kitchen utensils, microwave ovens and other appliances, welders, jig saws and air compressors, and four Ford Crown Victoria police cars.

Music and athletic departments are disposing of woodwind and brass instruments, keyboards, pianos and band uniforms, and weight-lifting equipment, elliptical machines and a treadmill.

All items will be offered "as is/where is" without warranties. Payment in full by cash or check is due the day of the sale. Information: http://bit.ly/2dnheC9
