The cold front that blasted through the area Saturday night brings breezy and cold conditions Sunday, meteorologists say.

“Wind is gusty in Atlanta,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said. “That wind will stay with us most of the day today.”

Metro Atlanta temperatures were just shy of 70 degrees Saturday, but Sunday’s high stays in the 50s.

Currently, the temperature is 53 degrees in Atlanta, Monahan said.

By 6 p.m., temperatures will be in the upper 40s so if you're heading to the 70th annual Macy's Great Tree Lighting event, bundle up.

A freeze warning was issued throughout much of the state from 10 p.m. Sunday through 9 a.m. Monday.

Portions of central and North Georgia should expect temperatures in the 30s overnight.
