For the second time since October, Gipco Southern Inc. has delayed a request for a conditional use permit that would allow for the construction of a RaceTrac convenience store/gas station in Braselton. The city’s Planning Commission was scheduled to hold a public hearing on the request Jan. 22, but Gipco Southern has filed to move the request to April.

The proposed gas station and convenience store would be built at the southwest corner of the Thompson Mill Road/State Route 211 intersection. Fountainhead Development owns the property, which is currently zoned for a planned unit development within the State Route 211 Overlay district.
