Daniela Iniestra Varelas of Athens, Juan Matiz of Atlanta, Maria Ruiz Gonzalez of Cumming, Abibatou Diallo of Fairburn, Yineira Lopez of Johns Creek, Pedro Castillo of Lawrenceville, Sergio Armenta and Vanessa Zetino-Granados of Norcross, Vishal Jungiwalla of Snellville, Adrian Arjoon of Sugar Hill and Azalia Martinez Gonzalez of Winder were named to Eastern Connecticut State University's dean's list.

Deshane Velasquez of Douglasville was awarded the Governor Joe Frank Harris Scholarship by the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.

Natasha Malmin and Courtney Montague of Atlanta were awarded the Andrew Young Fellowship from Georgia State University.

Anushay Yasin of Atlanta and Sean Robinson of Johns Creek are part of the Georgia State University College of Law STLA Team that advanced to the octofinal round in the Buffalo Niagara Mock Trial Competition in New York.

Gen Li of Duluth graduated from the University of Iowa.

Janice Alcalde of Atlanta and Katherine Robb of Roswell were named to Saint Joseph's University's dean's list.

Stephanie Pereda of Kennesaw and Michael Faunce of Smyrna were named Big Sister of the Year and Big Brother of the Year, respectively, by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.

Helen Cauley of Acworth received the 2016 Beacon Society award from Georgia State University.

Adeel Choudhary of Acworth, Andria Molina of Atlanta, Paul Nosa-Oviasu of Loganville, Kanan Vaghela of Stockbridge and Oladipo Cole of Williamson graduted from Davenport University.

Abby and Mia Lewis of Pinckneyville Middle School won first place in the Performance Group Project Junior Division at the Gwinnett County National History Day Competition.
