The city of College Park recently announced the sale of 4.1 acres of land to BMW of North America on the campus of the Georgia International Convention Center to construct a new BMW Technical Training Facility.

"We're excited to have BMW join the corporate landscape here in College Park. The brand is well suited for success in the region, and we're poised to support them to the attainment of that goal," said College Park Mayor Jack P. Longino.

Indianapolis-based Pure Development is the project developer. John Gaskin with Robinson Weeks Partners in Atlanta is advising and assisting on the effort.

The city said BMW's arrival affirms College Park's ongoing growth, citing the new Marriott Renaissance hotel to the Gateway Center and a new multipurpose arena slated to open in 2019, which will be the home court for the Atlanta Hawks' Developmental League basketball team.
