A minor earthquake was reported early Friday near Augusta, according to multiple media reports.
The 2.5 magnitude earthquake was reported about 2:40 a.m. northwest of Evans. It occurred about five miles underground, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. There were no reports of damage.

It was the second earthquake of similar intensity to occur in Georgia this month. On April 5, a 2.5 magnitude quake struck near Sparta, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. No damage was reported from that earthquake, either.
