3,700 Cobb residents show up for first day of early voting

More than 3,700 people cast their ballots on Cobb County's first day of in-person early voting.

The county election's office released the numbers to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution but noted that they are unofficial until they've been audited today. The report did not include the content of the votes.

The yet-to-be-vetted statistics showed that 2,137 people voted at the Cobb County Civic Center and 1,569 voted at the Cobb County Elections Main Office.

An estimated 1,000 of those votes came within the first hour of the polls opening, Janine Eveler said Monday.

The numbers also show that 7,575 residents have voted by mail out of the 20,287 ballots sent out.

That means 11,281 folks in Cobb have already spoken their mind. And we still have more than two weeks of early voting left.

Early voting in Cobb County: When and where to cast ballots

You can vote Monday through Friday at the civic center on South Marietta Parkway from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. or the main elections office on Whitlock Avenue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturdays, the hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Starting Halloween, many more polling locations open up.
