The DeKalb County Board of Ethics has scheduled a preliminary hearing for former Commissioner Elaine Boyer, who pleaded guilty to fraud charges this week.
During the Sept. 15 hearing, the board will consider whether to move forward with allegations that Boyer misused her county purchasing card.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in March first exposed how Boyer used her purchasing card for family airline tickets, rental cars, a ski resort booking and personal cellphone charges.
Even though Boyer is no longer in office, the Board of Ethics could still issue a public reprimand or a fine against Boyer if she’s found to have violated ethics rules.
The board will also consider a complaint against Boyer’s chief of staff, Bob Lundsten, during the same meeting.
