Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick has completed his pledge to donate $1 million to community organizations by giving the final $10,000 to Lithonia-based non-profit Helping Oppressed Mothers Endure.
That donation will be matched with another $10,000 from Grammy Award-winning singer Usher Raymond. Kaepernick asked his celebrity friends to match the final $100,000 in pledges as part of what he called a #10for10 challenge.
Kaepernick and Usher announced their donations in a video posted on Twitter Wednesday.
"He did it again! May God be glorified!" H.O.M.E. posted to its Instagram account in response. The organization specializes in providing resources to single mothers.
I am happy to announce I have completed my #MillionDollarPledge. For the final #10for10 joining me is my brother @usher! He is donating $10k to match my $10k for $20k for H.O.M.E from Lithonia, GA.
