City of Stonecrest’s first election draws 20 candidates

A field of 20 candidates signed up this week to run in the city of Stonecrest's first election.

Voters will decide on the new city’s mayor and five City Council members during a March 21 election. All of the races will be contested.

The city of Stonecrest will include more than 50,000 residents in a southeast DeKalb County area near Lithonia, I-20 and Stonecrest Mall.
