Atlanta mayor candidates face grueling schedule of forums, debates

Candidates hoping to succeed Kasim Reed as Atlanta’s next mayor will discuss the issues at a number of forums and a few debates over the next two months.

Candidates hoping to succeed Kasim Reed as Atlanta’s next mayor will discuss the issues at a number of forums and a few debates over the next two months.

More than a dozen candidates are hoping to succeed Kasim Reed as mayor of Atlanta on election day Nov. 7.

But before they get there, they will face each other in a number of candidate forums and at least two debates over the next two months.

Below is a list of several forum/debate dates. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution will update this list as more information becomes available.

Sept. 12: Center for Civic Innovation, The Masquerade at Underground Atlanta

Set. 14: Georgia STAND UP, IBEW Auditorium, 501 Pulliam Street

Sept. 19: Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, Loudermilk Center

Sept. 25 Atlanta Arts and Culture, Woodruff Arts Center

Sept. 28: Buckhead Business Association

Sept. 28: Emory University and the League of Women Voters,Glenn Memorial Auditorium at Emory University

Sept. 28: WSB-TV Channel 2 Action News forum, Emory University

Oct. 2: KISS 104.1, 1601 West Peachtree Street

Oct. 4: Inman Park Neighborhood Association, Trolley Barn at 963 Edgewood Avenue

Oct. 5: Cascade Heights Business Consortium

Oct. 10: United Way of Greater Atlanta

Oct. 12: Atlanta Press Club debate, WABE studios located at 740 Bismark Road

Oct. 17: Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority, Atlanta Hyatt Regency , 265 Peachtree Street

Oct. 22: WSB-TV Channel 2 Action News debate

Oct. 18: Buckhead Council of Neighborhoods, 4111 Northside Parkway
