Gwinnett school board names two new principals


Gwinnett County Public Schools officials announced Thursday new principals to replace two are retiring at the end of the school year.

Shane Orr will replace Maryanne Grimes as principal of Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville. Orr is currently the school’s assistant principal. Orr began his career in Gwinnett in 2000 as a teacher at Dacula High School.

Kara Dutton, who currently serves as principal of Peachtree Elementary School, has been named as the next principal at Jackson Elementary School in Lawrenceville. Dutton will replace Ruth Markham. Dutton worked at Jackson from 2003 to 2013.
