Clark Atlanta University to hold annual scholarship fundraising gala

Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson lead the cast of ABC's 'Black-ish.' Kenya Barris, the show’s creator, is being honored by his alma mater, Clark Atlanta University, at a scholarship gala on March 18, 2017.

Clark Atlanta University and its alumni association are celebrating the achievements of several graduates and others next week as part of its annual gala to raise money for its scholarship fund.

The gala is scheduled to take place at the Omni Atlanta Hotel at the CNN Center on Sat., March 18, starting at 6 p.m. with a reception.

The honorees are:

  • Kenya Barris, producer, writer and creator of the award-winning ABC sitcom "Black-ish"
  • Fulton County State Court Senior Judge Brenda Hill Cole
  • Wade Ford CEO Steve Ewing
  • photographer Horace Henry
  • Abbott Laboratories vice president Al Reid
  • videographer Anthony White
