Cherokee, Cobb and Paulding County public school students are getting another snow, or shall we say, ice day Tuesday. But public school students in Forsyth and Marietta, who had Monday off from school, will have to return to class Tuesday.

Cobb officials said there were still “significant amount of ice on the roads in the northern third of the county.”

Cherokee officials cited similar concerns.

“Based upon continued, current hazardous road conditions in shaded areas throughout the County and still on multiple School District properties...the Superintendent of Schools has cancelled school for students and staff,” Cherokee officials wrote on its website.

Cherokee officials said the decision was based on discussions with the county sheriff’s office and the Cherokee Emergency Management Agency.

The school district said it plans to reopen for classes Wednesday.

The Cherokee, Cobb, Forsyth, Marietta and Paulding school districts closed Monday, saying some roads were still too icy for school buses to travel.

Paulding officials said that staff are expected to report to work two hours after their normal start time.
