Family members discuss the death of Toni Abad in south Fulton County.

Two 18-year-olds have been charged in the case.

A well-liked worker and grandmother who was found dead in the trunk of her car may have been lured to her death, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The son of Toni Abad said surveillance video showed that she was flagged down late Thursday as she left her job at Publix off Campbellton Fairburn Road in south Fulton County, the station reported.

Police think De’asia Page asked Abad, 58, for a ride, and Abad’s son said Page led her to a location where Jared Kemp was, Channel 2 reported.

Family and friends said Page and Kemp stole Christmas gifts that Abad had for her grandchildren, then severely beat her before leaving the car on an access road near the Publix.

The car initially was reported to police as a suspicious vehicle Friday morning.

Kemp and Page, both 18, have been arrested and charged with murder, according to Fulton County police.

Abad’s coworkers held a vigil for her Tuesday.

"Everybody who knows Toni loves Toni,” said her sister, Debbie Ritchie.

"She is going to be terribly, terribly missed.”
