The family of an attorney shot and killed in Midtown has established a scholarship in her honor.

Donations can be made online for the "Trinh Huynh Hope Fund," which will fund a scholarship in Huynh's name. Huynh, 40, died April 3 when she was shot as she walked across Peachtree Street in Midtown.

Born in Vietnam, Huynh came to the United States as a toddler and grew up in Gainesville. She graduated from Princeton University before completing law school at Emory University. Huynh worked for UPS and served as a mock trial coach at Grady High School.

Hours after Huynh's death, her alleged killer was arrested after running a red light in Cobb County, according to police. Raylon Lee Browning, 39, was charged with murder and is also suspected of stabbing two men the day before killing Huynh. In jail, Browning allegedly punched another inmate four times in the face and was found chewing his arm. He remained Wednesday night in the Fulton County jail, where he is being held without bond.
