Two people pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against others charged in the 2016 beating and burning death of an 83-year-old central Georgia woman.

Justin Pierce Grady, 39, and Cortavious Deshun Heard, 19, pleaded guilty Friday to several charges in the death of Dorothy “Dot” Dow of Meriwether County, court clerk Kyemeshia Gibson said.

No sentencing date is set.

Angel Latrice Harmon and Mina Christine Ellery still are charged with murder and Shanquavious Keontrell Cameron is charged in a related burglary.

Grady and Heard previously worked at the Grantville home of Dow, who was beaten and burned Aug. 4, 2016, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

The intruders demanded money from Dow after they entered her house in the 7000 block of Forest Road, Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith told Channel 2 Action News. The break-in occurred between 11 p.m. and midnight.

“She pleaded with them that she did not have any money,” Smith said.

However, the attackers broke both of Dow’s arms and left cuts and bruises on her face. They also poured a flammable liquid on her and lit it, Smith said.

Dow was treated at Grady Memorial Hospital before she died later in August.
