More child sex charges added against former Life University coach

Highlights

Ron Gorman faces 369 child sex crimes charges.

He is also being investigated on allegations as far back as the 1980s.

A former wrestling coach from Marietta now faces 369 charges for child sex crimes after Pennsylvania authorities added 108 charges last week.

The charges were added against Ron Gorman, 51, after authorities interviewed an alleged victim from East Stroudsburg, Pa., who said the coach abused him when he was between 10 and 13 years old, beginning in 2006.

Gorman already faced 261 charges in separate child sex abuse allegations.

He was arrested March 3, then extradited to Pennsylvania on Wednesday.

Gorman worked at Life University in Marietta as a wrestling coach before becoming the school’s wrestling director in 2014.

“The University never received complaints about Mr. Gorman regarding any incident occurring on our campus or involving any member of the Life community,” school spokesman William Brooks said.

A Cobb County mother told Channel 2 Action News she’d tipped off Pennsylvania authorities about the allegations after Gorman allegedly abused her son, who is now in his 20s.

Officials are also investigating allegations against Gorman, formerly known as Ron Rarick, dating as far back as the 1980s.

Gorman faces 36 counts each for assault against a person under 13, assault against a person under 16 and sexual contact with a minor.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Trooper Brian V. Noll at 570-839-7701.
