A man accused of stabbing his wife 15 times reported the alleged murder to Clayton and Gwinnett county 911 centers before fleeing the state, according to a police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Saul Maisonet-Polanco, 34, of Jonesboro, was booked into the Gwinnett County jail two weeks after his arrest in Birmingham, Alabama.

Maisonet-Polanco initially called Clayton County police to report the crime, but the call was transferred to Gwinnett County’s 911 center, according to the report. He told police his wife, Tanya Maisonet, was dead and then hung up.

Due to the nature of the 911 call, Gwinnett officers forced open the door of the couple’s Peachtree Corners home when no one answered.

Once inside, officers found the woman dead in the kitchen. The police report does not say if anyone else was inside the home when she was found.

It is believed Maisonet-Polanco stabbed her repeatedly, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Maisonet-Polanco is in the Gwinnett County jail without bond on felony murder and aggravated assault charges.
