Police in southeast Georgia suspect foul play in the disappearance of a 72-year-old woman.

Officers went to the Glynn County home of Linda Mansfield about 11:23 a.m. Tuesday, police said in a Facebook post. They didn’t find her, but they called the situation “suspicious.”

Police found evidence of foul play, according to the post. No other details about the scene were released.

Mansfield was last seen during the week of May 15, according to police.

Neighbors said Mansfield was a widow who lived alone, according to Jacksonville, Fla., television station news4jax.com. She also had a pacemaker and recently had shoulder and kidney surgeries, making it unlikely that she would wander away from home.

“I've never had something like this happened to me before,” neighbor Carol Easterly said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 912-554-7802 or a “silent witness” line at 912-264-1333.
