Twenty-five North Georgia residents are facing federal drug and gun charges after a two-year investigation involving the FBI and Monroe police, officials said.
Twenty-two of the suspects were arrested Wednesday, a week after eight indictments were handed down, said Pamela Lightsey, spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Georgia’s division in Athens.
All of the suspects are from Monroe in Walton County. The people charged were:
- Anthony J. Johnson, 39, Anthony L. Smith, 51, his sons Emmanuel B. Smith, 31, and Lachievous Smith, 29, Kristy Davis-Smith, 30, and Brittney Porter, 27. A 21-count indictment charged them with distributing crack cocaine, marijuana and a controlled substance for four years.
- Cardia Wright, 28, John T. Chapman, 26, Casey Watts, 31, Chris Rivers, 25, and John Henry Wilson, 53. They distributed crack cocaine, meth, marijuana and controlled substances, according to a 21-count indictment.
- Vernon X. Cooper, 36, Carl L. Brown, 26, and Craig Towler, 34. They conspired to distribute crack cocaine, meth, marijuana and controlled substances, according to an 11-count indictment.
- Kendarious Gaither, 21, Quadarriaus Little, 20, Jermaine Davis, 33, his wife Clarissa Strong-Davis, 27, Shantrell Porter, 20, and Miquavious Flanigan, 25. They conspired to distribute crack cocaine and marijuana as well as having firearms in connection with a drug crime, according to a 15-count indictment.
- Devontae Durden, 23, and Darius O. Vinson, 22, conspired to distribute crack cocaine and had a gun in connection with a drug crime, according to a two-count indictment.
- Douglas Hunter, 45, was charged with distributing meth.
- Chauncey Brantley, 22, was charged with distributing meth and having a firearm in connection with a drug crime, according to a five-count indictment.
- Jammahl Fewquay, 23, was charged with distributing marijuana and having a gun in connection with a drug crime.
The suspects were scheduled to have their first court appearances Wednesday in federal court in Macon.
No other details were released.
