Driver on leave while police investigate fight on school bus

Authorities say the bus driver is under investigation over how she broke up a fight.

Police and Marietta school officials are investigating a bus driver’s actions after a fight broke out on her route, Channel 2 Action News reported Monday.

The veteran driver, whose name was not released, is on paid administrative leave while officials investigate how she broke up the fight, Channel 2 reported.

No cameras were on the bus during the fight, which left the two children involved with minor scratches, the station reported.

Marietta police were also called to investigate the Roswell Road incident, Channel 2 reported.

Marietta police Officer Chuck McPhilamy said Marietta schools superintendent Grant Rivera is cooperating with the investigation. Rivera told Channel 2 in a statement he has been in contact with the parents of the students involved in the fight.
