‘Crowbar crook’ hits 6 businesses in 2 days

Clayton County police are looking for a serial burglar.

A serial burglar police call the “crowbar crook” hit at least six businesses in two counties over 30 hours.

He broke into a Bruster’s ice cream shop Wednesday night in Clayton County and a Longhorn Steakhouse on Thursday, Channel 2 Action News reported.

He’s hit five restaurants and a cleaners in Henry and Clayton counties.

The man appearing on several surveillance videos wears heavy clothing and a mask.

He got his nickname because he uses a crowbar to enter after hours, Clayton County Det. Stefan Schindler told Channel 2.

“He either breaks the glass to gain entry into the restaurant or he will shimmy the door,” Schindler said.

In one burglary, the crook made off with $1,200, Channel 2 reported.

The owner of the Bruster’s, Kiran Patel, said the man got inside, but an alarm went off so he only stole a tip jar.

“We need to get this guy,” Patel told Channel 2.
