It’s unclear how the body ended up on the interstate or what caused the man’s death.

The victim was from Forest Park, according to the GBI.

Georgia State Patrol troopers were called about 8:45 a.m. to investigate, officials said. The Emerson Police Department and GBI also helped with the investigation, which blocked a right lane before exit No. 283 for more than three hours, according to the agencies.

It’s unclear how the body ended up on the interstate or what caused Griggs’ death. Investigators are still trying to determine if his death was a homicide or an accident.
