An Atlanta man convicted of shooting a man six times outside a Burger King also mistakenly shot and killed his accomplice in the botched drug deal, officials said.

Nicholas Benton was sentenced on murder, aggravated assault, attempted armed robbery and weapons charges in the April 2016 shooting on the 300 block of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, Fulton County District Attorney spokesman Dontaye Carter said in a news release.
Officials said Benton shot Reginald Coicou five times in the torso and once in the head “during a robbery disguised as an illegal drug sale,” Carter said. Coicou died at the scene.
Benton also accidentally shot his accomplice, Quincy Wytche. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he later died.
Benton will be sentenced at a later date.
