David Wohlgemuth and Dallas LeBlanc were arrested in connection with a shooting in Cherokee County.

A man and a woman from Acworth have been arrested in Cherokee County after a woman was found shot in the head.

David Wohlgemuth was accused Tuesday of shooting the woman and Dallas LeBlanc was arrested two days later on charges of tampering with evidence and other offenses, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Police were dispatched just before 12:20 a.m. Tuesday to a home on Flatbottom Road south of Ball Ground, Cherokee sheriff’s Sgt. Marianne Kelley said.

When deputies arrived, they found the woman with a gunshot wound to the head. She told police the shooter left the scene.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, Kelley said. Her condition is not known.

After investigators gathered more information from the injured woman at the hospital, they were able to arrest Wohlgemuth. Then, more evidence pointed them to LeBlanc, Kelley said.

Wohlgemuth, 21, faces two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, home invasion and burglary, Kelley said. He also faces charges of armed robbery, criminal attempt to commit murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

LeBlanc, 25, was arrested Thursday on two counts of being party to an aggravated assault and charges of being party to an armed robbery, being party to an aggravated battery and being party to a home invasion, Kelley said.

Police did not release a motive.

Both are being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center without bond.
