APD arrests 2 accused of sex trafficking, murder in Florida


Atlanta police arrested two people Monday accused of sex trafficking two girls in Orlando, Fla., one of whom is now dead, police said.

According to Orlando Police, Arthur Lee Coleman III, 26, and Karla Michelle Quiros Alsina, 20, were wanted for murder and human trafficking.

Two accomplices, Avorice Jeno Holman, 19, and Jose Ignacia Santiago-Sotomayor, 22, were arrested Wednesday, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

A friend introduced the girls, 14 and 15, to Santiago-Sotomayor after hearing they were looking to make money, according to the Sentinel. Santiago-Sotomayor then threatened them into sex work, the paper reported. For about eight days, the girls were forced into sex until the 14-year-old overdosed on drugs, the paper reported.

The four suspects are charged with murder since they were committing other felonies during her death, the Orlando police chief told the Sentinel. The four also face prostitution, racketeering and child pornography charges, the Sentinel reported.

The 15-year-old girl is reportedly safe.
