Celebrate Veterans Day with the Greatest Generation

I’m sure you’ve seen the famous photo of the raising of the United States flag on Iwo Jima’s Mount Suribachi during World War II. Bill Montgomery saw the real thing that day. The young Marine fought the Japanese for 37 days on that tiny Pacific island in early 1945 in one of the bloodiest conflicts of the war. To commemorate Veterans Day on Wednesday, we celebrate the brave men like Decatur’s Montgomery who sacrificed for their country.
