You can see it happening all over. Giant cranes dot the skyline from south of Atlanta to the northern suburbs as thousands of construction workers help reshape our communities.

For example, at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, crews there have started work on a $6 billion expansion and makeover that will update the domestic terminal and concourses, introduce new features like a hotel and eventually add another concourse and runway to the world’s busiest airport.

In Cobb County, the Atlanta Braves are building a new $672 million stadium – SunTrust Park – and a mixed-use development called The Battery as new developments are also going up around Cumberland Mall.

In Atlanta, the Atlanta Falcons are building Mercedes-Benz Stadium for about $1.5 billion. Both the Braves and Falcons stadiums involved millions of taxpayer dollars.

There are also tech companies building office towers in the heart of the city and Georgia State University readies to build a campus on the Turner Field property.
