Saturday afternoon at Corky Kell Classic

Since its inception in 1992, the annual Corky Kell Classic signaled the beginning of the high school football season in Georgia. Until the Georgia Dome was the site of the one-day event, but this year the games moved to McEachern High School and were played over two days.

Archer played against Lowndes, and Tift County took on Norcross, both games at Georgia Tech. Westover played Columbia, and Redan played South Effingham at West Georgia College. All games were held on March 1, 2014.

Star athlete remembered
 Ti'Mon Creighton, 14, gives flowers to Raeshawn Coleman, the mother of Terrell "Too Tall" Coleman during a service to commemorate his life at Atlanta Basketball Courts. Coleman died suddenly on Sunday after playing basketball. "I know the Lord has him," she told the AJC before the service. "An angel has [flown] back to heaven as he was slam dunk on the basketball goal. That was my son."

Miller Grove High School student Terrell "Too Tall" Coleman was remembered by friends and family at a service held Oct. 30, 2013 at Atlanta Basketball Courts.
